A Meal Preparation System for People Who Hate Meal Prep

6 min read · Reviewed by Zin, Doctor | Nutrition Consultant | Lifestyle & Wellness Coach

You do not need sixteen identical containers. A component-based system takes ninety minutes and survives real life.

Prepare components, not meals

Cook two protein sources, two carbohydrate bases, and two vegetable preparations. Combining them gives you eight distinct meals from one session, and nothing tastes the same by Wednesday.

The ninety-minute template

Start the slowest item first — usually grains or roasted vegetables. Cook proteins while they run. Portion into containers only what you will eat in the next three days; freeze the rest.

Build a five-minute fallback

Keep the ingredients for one no-cook meal permanently stocked. The fallback is what prevents an ordered takeaway from becoming a broken week.
